About our church community
The Church of Sainte Nathalène (24200, near Sarlat)
Our church is located in the village of Ste Nathalène some 8 kms east of Sarlat-la-Canéda. The congregation at Ste Nathalène started after a bi-lingual Carol Service in 2004. Monthly services began in January 2005, with weekly services during July and August in conjunction with ICS. As our Church grew, building on the success of the ICS programme, we were able to independently manage the weekly summer services.

We now hold services on the first and third Sundays from September to mid-July and weekly services from mid-July to late August. We have a regular core congregation of 14 who all play their part in the life of this family of God. We are joined by several others who come when they can, plus second home owners and tourists. We seek to shine the light of Christ for all to see. The summer services have a lively family feel but still revere our Lord God Almighty. Activities are available for the younger members of our congregation.
There is a container on the welcome desk for offerings to God for His work in the Chaplaincy. We do not pass a collection round. There is also a container for contributions to charity, via the association ‘Chap-Aid’. Mainly going to disaster relief and a small charity in Nepal supporting orphans and running a mission school.
Our congregation
comes from a wide area of the Dordogne, Corrèze, and the Lot. All newcomers will receive a very warm welcome from your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Those of all Christian denominations are welcome to attend our services.
We have a modern style of worship, encouraged by our musicians. We are a lively congregation with a love for offering worship in Spirit and truth to our Father. Church of England forms of worship are used for all services; open prayers of thanksgiving and the sharing of testimonies are encouraged. Prayer ministry is available after the service. Most of our songs are modern but we do still sing the gems from the past.

The blessing of gathering for worship and praise
We are blessed to be able to use a beautiful stone church for our worship meetings, right in the centre of the this charming village. Even on a hot day, it can feel remarkably chilly inside, yet be 30°C just beyond the church doors! Hence we always leave the heavy large oak door open, to let the warmth in, but also to let the sound of our worship emit beyond and around.
Over the summer, we enjoy welcoming so many different ministers to lead our services. We come from different backgrounds to worship our God with music and praise. Afterwards, everyone is welcome to join us for a bring and share lunch, either outside in the sunshine, or at the back of the church in cooler weather.

We are delighted to share this short video with you: « The stones make the church building, the family of God make the church without walls. »
