Chap-Aid & Charities

Charitable Giving

2 Corinthians 9:7-8. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound towards you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Chap- Aid update: donations to charities in 2022

Thanks to your generosity, we have given 1,111€ to charity. You certainly have the heart of the Father, showing your compassion to those in need. We have given to disaster relief in Tonga and Pakistan, aid to Ukraine, New Dawn’s work in Nepal and closer to home, Resto du Coeur. There were no fund raising events, this was all donated at services. We are blessed, to be a blessing to others.

Nepal : For many years we have supported the work of A New Dawn’s work in Nepal (www.a-newdawn.org). They are involved with Little Feet Orphanage and Run with the Word, a mission training school. The website tells of their work but is not up to date. However, we are grateful to Jennie Waterman who gives us regular updates and newsletters.

Restos du Coeur : Our harvest donations of goods are given to the local branch in Sarlat who are very grateful. Thank you Rosemary for delivering them for us. Our financial donations from the carol service each year goes to the regional branch.

Our gross church budget was 9,300 €. Our actual end of year gross income was 10,161.

We are delighted to confirm that we have given over 10% of our income to charity. There were no fundraising events, this was given in collections at our services. We are blessed to be a blessing to others. My grateful thanks to you all, who have God’s heart of compassion for those in need. Our giving is also underpinned with prayer as we intercede for the needs of others.

We give praise and thanks to God for letting his resources flow through us.

11th Mission Training school in Kathmandu

“Runwiththeword” is inspired by a scripture in 2 Thessalonians 3:1, “…pray for us that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified…” The aim of “runwiththeword” is to help get the simple Gospel message to particularly remote places, often where the name of Jesus is not yet known. It often involves training people who are willing to walk for days to reach isolated villages, inaccessible by road or transport.

November 2019 'Vide Grenier' - fundraising out in the community

On 3rd November we had a stall at the Vide Grenier in Le Bugue. In spite of bad weather conditions Jeff, Andrew and Rebecca managed to set up the stall and enough people came along for us to raise 228€ for our charity in Nepal. Many thanks to those who came along and those who donated goods to sell.
