Chaplaincy Women's Retreat : May 2026
Join us as we explore, reflect, discuss, pray, and worship together
Theme: 'Blessed are the Peacemakers'
Save the date! Registrations will begin soon.
Friday May 15th – Sunday May 17th 2026 (from 14:30 on Friday until Sunday after lunch)
This year, the retreat will be led by
Amanda Allchorn, Tina Marshall and Jeanie Allen (the wife of our chaplain Rev’d John Bavington),
as we step back from our daily lives into the peaceful world of a worshipping abbey.
Come and join us for a peaceful and refreshing weekend in the beautiful surroundings of the Abbaye d’Echourgnac (24410, NW of Bergerac).
Come and join us to explore biblical peacemakers – from Jesus teachings in the Beatitudes, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ (Matt 5v9), and women from the Bible, such as Abigail, Hannah (1 Sam), and Mary, mother of Jesus, and others who were gentle, humble and faithful to God, yet resilient and called by God to make a difference.
The programme is flexible and includes time together, and alone, to pray, worship, read, reflect and share, as we each explore what God may be saying to us, and as we restore, refresh and renew. It is your time. In the beautiful chapel there is an option to join the Sisters in worship; there are walks to enjoy in the peaceful grounds of the abbey and surrounding area; and simple and delicious meals served three times daily.
The cost and further information will be available soon, but in the meantime if you’d like to express interest or have questions please contact Tina: tinamarshallcottam@gmail.com
