Chaplaincy Women's Retreat: May 2025

Join us as we explore, reflect, discuss, pray, and worship together

Theme: 'Strangers in a Foreign Land'

Friday May 16th – Sunday May 18th 2025 (from 14:30 on Friday until Sunday after lunch)

Reservations will begin in early 2025.

Come and join us for a peaceful and refreshing weekend in the beautiful surroundings of the Abbaye d’Echourgnac (24410, NW of Bergerac).

Over the weekend, we will explore the lives of women from the bible Esther, Naomi and Ruth, who were strangers in a foreign land, and dip into the story of ‘The wife of noble character’ in Proverbs 31 as we seek to discover what God is saying to us now, through these bible texts.

The Retreat will be led by Amanda Allchorn and Tina Marshall, offering an opportunity to step back from our busy lives, have time to reflect and share together or – alone in the beautiful chapel, join the nuns in worship and walk in the beautiful grounds of the Abbaye and surrounding area.

The Retreat Programme will offer ample time for being still, for personal reflection, time in small groups, as well as fellowship and fun together. There will be daily prayer and worship, and opportunities to join with the Abbey Community in their daily worship services – plus time outdoors to explore, weather permitting. Our aim is that we will leave the Abbaye renewed and restored.
