Chaplaincy Celebration - Saturday 23rd May 2026

Abbaye Saint Ferme, Gironde (33580)

Join us for our 'Chaplaincy Day'!

All are welcome to join us for this time for renewal, for our Chaplaincy family to worship, give thanks and praise, pray together and to celebrate the life of the Chaplaincy of Aquitaine!

Come and meet with God, and celebrate with friends old and new

Once again, the venue for our very special Chaplaincy Day is Saint-Ferme, located in the Entre-deux-Mers region between Sainte-Foy-la-Grande to the north (24 k away) and La Réole to the south (18 k away). Overlooking the village, the imposing Benedictine Abbey is one of the largest Benedictine establishments in Aquitaine. Adjacent to the Abbey, the refectory provides us with a place for morning refreshments, with parking and toilets available. There will be people on hand to assist with steps, parking, and serving, enabling as many of us as possible to come together in worship, prayer, fellowship, learning, and celebration. We will have use of the Salle des Fêtes, as well as lovely, plentiful outdoor spaces.

Programme for the Celebration Day:

From 10.00: Arrival and parking
From 10.00: Arrival refreshments in the refectory adjacent to the Abbaye
10.30: The Abbaye will be open for people to take their seats
11.00: Worship and Chaplaincy Holy Communion – honouring traditional and contemporary worship styles
12.15: Walk / drive to the Salle des Fêtes (a few hundred metres away)
12.30: Lunch – ‘Picnic’ / Bring your Own (refreshments provided) You may like to bring a little extra food for those who may have forgotten, didn’t know about lunch, or are having difficulty.
13.30: Mixed options – teaching seminars, a local walk, or quiet prayer in the Abbaye
16.00: Tea and cake in the Salle des Fêtes

The Abbey and surrounding countryside are truly breathtaking, and we’ll be making full use of this fantastic space. There is ample parking available, and we strongly encourage car sharing or mini-bus use where possible.
While we understand not everyone may be able to attend for the full day, we would love for you to come, even if just for part of it, to show support and share in this memorable moment for our Chaplaincy.
A formal RSVP invitation will follow by email.
