About our church

L’Eglise Saint Pierre – Saint Paul lies in the centre of the village of Bertric Burée (24320) and can be seen for miles around. The village is just off the D708 between Riberac and Verteillac. There is a large car park nearby.

Anglican services of worship: The diversity of our church community, coming from a wide range of church backgrounds is reflected in our different styles of worship. Depending on the type of service, the style of music varies from traditional hymns to more modern worship songs. Whatever suits your particular Christian Spiritual needs, we warmly welcome anyone to join us.

An active and thriving Church Community:

Church doesn’t finish on Sunday! We are an active church holding events during the week and throughout the year. We are fortunate to have a building, named the Upper Room just across the road from the church where we can share tea, coffee and fellowship after Services. The building and the garden provide many opportunities to host a lot of our activities and events.

The Book Barn has an extensive collection of second-hand books, DVDs and CDs. It is open after services and during the week and is situated in the front garden of the Upper Room.

Weekly and fortnightly, there are several Home Groups meeting at people’s homes or on zoom for Bible Study, fellowship and sharing. At certain times we may run additional groups such as Lent courses.

Once a month we enjoy a Bring and Share lunch following the service in the Upper Room or in the garden, weather permitting! It’s a good opportunity to get to know each other.

Apart from winter, a walking group meet with their dogs once a month to enjoy a walk before sharing a convivial lunch together in a local restaurant.

In addition to the very popular Summer Fête and Christmas Market, there are a variety of social and fundraising events throughout the year when we welcome seeing new faces. These include Quiz Nights, Wine Bingo, Burn’s Night, Valentines Supper, Dances in the local Salle de Fete and much more! Our events are advertised on the Dronne Valley Network (DVN) so look out for what’s on next.

'Open Door' at Bertric Burée

We have been holding ‘Open Door’ since July 2021 – which is simply, the church being open on a Sunday morning when there isn’t a Service taking place. Open Door is not a service. There is no agenda, no one owns it but God. We invite you to come and go as you like, spend time in church to pray, to listen to God and if you feel led, to share with others.

Prayer Ministry and Pastoral Care

Prayer ministry is available at Bertric Burée by members of the team during and after services. If you would like prayer support, there is always someone available to pray with you. If you have questions, ideas or suggestions, please contact Cathy and Brian Wheatcroft (05 53 90 62 85 – chezmillefleurs@aol.com), or speak to another member of the team.

Our pastoral care team can provide company, hospital visits, a phone call, a listening ear, and prayer support. We would appreciate being informed of perceived needs so that where possible we can be of help.

If you know of anyone who would welcome a visit or call, please contact Jaki Moorhouse, email: jakimoorhouse@aol.com.
